Register now for VHS series on Bonn's climate plan

In March, the Adult Education Center in Bonn will continue its series on Bonn's climate plan. Participants will learn, for example, what the heat supply of the future could look like.

In March, the series of events on Bonn's climate plan will enter its second round. Climate protection and future topics will be presented to the people of Bonn. With the "Team Wärme" card game from the German Federal Environmental Foundation (DBU), participants will switch on the time lapse on March 20, 2025 and set off in search of the heat supply of the future.

On April 4, 2025, Mayor Katja Dörner and other guests will discuss where the city of Bonn stands on the road to climate neutrality. The city's Climate Neutral Bonn 2035 program office will provide insights into the first monitoring report on Bonn's climate plan.

But the events will not only take place indoors. Two guided walks invite participants to explore the climate district of Beuel and the future of the city center on foot.

Cooperation between civil society and the city

The series of events is a cooperation between the Adult Education Center Bonn (VHS) and the Climate Neutral Bonn 2035 program office. The focus is not only on the city's plans and measures, but also on the active commitment of urban society. Accordingly, events are offered together with partners. On June 5, 2025, for example, Chris Steenbergen will present the BürgerSolarBeratung, of which he is an active member. At the same event, Thomas Becker from the Vilich-Müldorf Citizens' Association will teach participants about training to become balcony scouts and show them how to install and commission a balcony power plant themselves using a sample system.

On site and free admission

A special feature of the VHS series is the variety of venues. They range from Bonn-Zentrum to Bad Godesberg and from Beuel to Hardtberg and bring the topics of the future to all four city districts. What's more, the events take place in person and are mostly free of charge. Only the information visit to the combined heat and power plant is subject to a nominal fee of eight euros.  Further information can be found here. (opens in a new tab)

There are still places available for the events. Registration is possible via the  VHS Bonn website (opens in a new tab) (www.vhs-bonn.de).
