There is currently a shortage of around 260 childcare places in Tannenbusch for children from the age of three until they start school. To remedy this situation, the city of Bonn wants to build a new daycare center on a suitable site on the corner of Oppelner Straße and Stolpstraße. The Bonn City Council approved the plans at its most recent meeting.
The open space with an area of around 3,600 square meters belongs to the city of Bonn and is designated as a playground and football pitch. Part of the football pitch can be retained. The construction of the four-group daycare center will create around 70 new childcare places for children aged four months to school age.
The new building is to be planned in accordance with efficiency building standard 40 and built over two storeys. In this way, land sealing can be kept to a minimum. The "Bonn model" will again be used for the planning, with a three-room concept for each group and in accordance with the guidelines of the municipal building management for new Kita buildings.
New Kita as interim accommodation during renovation work
As several daycare centers in the area will have to be renovated in the coming years, this may mean that this new Kita building will initially be used as an interim solution during the renovation period. The facility will serve as a replacement during the renovation of the Waldenburger Ring daycare center and then as an interim solution for the replacement new building in Buschdorf on Van-den Driesch-Straße. Only then can the sponsorship be awarded. A corresponding invitation to tender will therefore only be issued at a later date.
The construction project is subject to the proviso that a building permit has yet to be granted and the state youth welfare office issues an operating license. The necessary budget funds also still have to be made available.
