We can still enjoy Bonn's cherry blossom until probably mid-April. If you want to experience even more besides the pink blossoms, you could come to the popular cherry blossom flea market in the Old Town on Saturday, April 5. Foodies should make a note of the weekend of April 12/13 - there will once again be a street food festival on the grounds of Bonn's Kurfürstencarré.

If Bonn's old town is too crowded for you, we recommend the cherry blossom parades in Beuel and Bad Godesberg. Here you can enjoy the blossom (almost) undisturbed.

A contemporary perspective on the work of one of Germany's most famous Expressionist painters can be seen at the August Macke Haus Museum from April 10. In her colorful, expressive works, the young artist Ulrike Theusner (*1982) deals with themes that also characterized the works of August Macke, such as portraits, landscapes, cityscapes and genre scenes. The exhibition can be seen until August 17 in Macke's former home, now the August Macke House Museum.

Traditionally, the main tourist season in Bonn begins at Easter. The Bonn-Information therefore starts in April with a wide range of guided tours through Bonn, showing well-known classics as well as unknown insider tips in the city. Of course, the guided tours through the cherry blossom are the first thing to entice visitors. New this year is a tour with former city planner Brigitte Denkel, who was responsible for the establishment of the ornamental cherries in the 1980s. After the cherry blossom, there are also dates for tours of Bonn Minster again, including a climb to the roof truss, interior tours of the Villa Hammerschmidt or the Post Tower.

Every year around Easter, the Easter funfair takes place on the banks of the Rhine in Beuel, from the "Bahnhöfchen" to the "China-Schiff" jetty. This year, the fair will be held together with the flower festival for the first time and will be in Beuel from April 12 to 27. This year, funfair fans can once again look forward to the beautiful Ferris wheel, while break dance, twister, silver mine, hip hop dancer and bumper cars will ensure fast-paced action. Of course, visitors' physical well-being will also be catered for. The funfair is closed on Good Friday.

Set off on a boat trip into the romantic Middle Rhine Valley - you can do this again regularly from Good Friday. This is when the various boat tour providers start their trips to Königswinter, Linz or even further south. Whether it's the regular round trips or one of the special themed cruises, enjoy the view of the city skyline and the Siebengebirge mountains opposite.

Towards the end of the Second World War, the city of Bonn transferred an idyllic area in the Melbtal valley to the university for experimental plants. Plants from Georgia and China in particular, such as wild fruit trees and primeval sequoias, found a new home here. Once a year, the almost two-hectare site is also open to the public. Numerous stands provide information about the botanical garden and the plants, and visitors are also catered for.
