Purpose of data processing

As part of its public relations work, the City of Bonn offers an additional effective way of providing information and communicating with interested parties and citizens through the social media platforms used by the City of Bonn to supplement the bonn.de website, city press releases and newsletters.

Data processing when accessing the server

As soon as you access the home page of bonn.social to register, or during use in general, a connection is established to the web server on which this instance is operated.

The access data includes the name of the website accessed, file, date and time of access, amount of data transferred, notification of successful access, browser type and version, the user's operating system, referrer URL (the previously visited page), IP address and the requesting provider.

Log file information is stored for a maximum of seven days for security reasons (e.g. to investigate misuse or fraud) and then deleted. Data whose further storage is required for evidentiary purposes is excluded from deletion until the respective incident has been finally clarified.

If you wish to assert a request for information or other data subject rights, you can do so with the provider itself.

We primarily process your data in order to answer your inquiries or otherwise respond to your contact. The legal basis for the processing of the data is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. e) GDPR in conjunction with. § Section 3 DSG NRW, in the context of public relations work that is in the public interest.

If users are asked for consent by the respective social networks, the legal basis for processing is based on Art. 6 para. 1 letter a GDPR.

Recipients and categories of recipients of the data

Public, if you contact the K7 Youth Center of the City of Bonn via the social media platforms Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin, YouTube or Mastodon through comments, mentions or replies.

The City of Bonn draws your attention to the fact that you use the social media platforms and their functions on your own responsibility. This applies in particular to the use of interactive functions (e.g. commenting, sharing, rating).

Duration of storage and retention periods

The City of Bonn does not store any data itself in the context of the social media service Mastodon.
