15.6.2019 to 29.9.2019 in the Ernst Moritz Arndt House
On the occasion of Clara Schumann's 200th birthday
With loans from Vienna, Zwickau, Berlin, Düsseldorf and Baden-Baden, visitors to the exhibition were able to join Clara Schumann, the most famous piano virtuoso of the 19th century, on concert tours in Germany and abroad. These included Paris, where she traveled as a twelve-year-old. Or to Vienna, where she became an international star at the age of 19, to Russia, the Netherlands and England. London plays the leading role in terms of the number of appearances and length of stay. During her more than 60-year (!) public stage career, Leipzig, Vienna and Berlin were the most important and most frequently visited cities alongside London.
A book of the same name was published to accompany the exhibition.
The Stadtmuseum Bonn organized the exhibition in cooperation with the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Wie, Archive, Library and Collections in conjunction with the Robert Schumann House Zwickau.
