10.6.2020 to 6.9.2020 in the Ernst Moritz Arndt House
A selection of the most beautiful acquisitions made by the Stadtmuseum Bonn over the past eight years:
- A precious silver jug for chocolate from the best goldsmith in the Elector Maximilian Franz's royal seat in Cologne
- A few examples from the production of the Franz Anton Mehlem porcelain company, the largest company in Bonn until the First World War
- A May punch bowl from a prominent Bonn family
- The exquisite replica of a horse's head made by volunteer hands to perfectly fit a bridle used by Bonn's royal hussars
- Paintings with views of Bonn that no longer exist, Beethoven prints from the early 19th century
- Two large coffee bean tins from a former Bonn coffee company
- Bonn studentica from the 19th century
- A mirror from the former property of Clara Schumann
The small summer exhibition showed this and much more as a "run-up" to the Beethoven exhibition "Bonn's Golden Age", which had to be postponed from April to the fall due to the corona lockdown.
