The opening, takeover, relocation or closure of a practice (or a care service) or staff changes in the case of employment of employees must be reported to the public health department. The following are affected:

• Occupational and occupational therapists or occupational therapists
• physiotherapists and physiotherapists respectively
• Midwives or maternity nurses
  (since April 1, 2024, responsibility lies with the Cologne district government)
• Alternative practitioners and sectoral alternative practitioners
• Healthcare professionals and nurses in private outpatient and home care
• Nurses for the elderly in private outpatient and home care
• Speech therapists and speech therapists
• Masseurs and medical bath attendants
• Podiatrists and podologists
