Parking permits for social services are intended to facilitate the work of these services, which frequently operate at different locations and use vehicles with a clearly legible company address permanently affixed to both longitudinal sides of the vehicle.

The parking permit for social services entitles the holder to

• to park in restricted parking bans or no-parking zones
• to park free of charge and without observing the maximum parking time in public parking spaces where parking discs are compulsory, at parking meters and in the area of parking ticket machines or in residents' parking spaces.

This exemption only applies if no other parking is available within a reasonable distance and only for the duration of the work assignment.
It does not allow the vehicle to be parked in the area of the business premises.

Parking permits for social services for the administrative districts in NRW can be approved for a maximum of three years.

Several vehicles can be used on one permit, whereby each permit is only valid in one vehicle and only in the original.
If several vehicles are used at the same time, each additional vehicle requires its own permit.
