You no longer live in Bonn and want to apply for a new driver's license at the road traffic authority in your current place of residence and need a copy of your driver's license card for this purpose.

Please note:

If you are or were already in possession of a driving license issued after 01.01.1999, your data is stored in the Central Driving Licence Register (ZFER). You therefore do not need a copy of the card. The road traffic authority now responsible for you can query your data there.
If you still need written information (e.g. for a foreign driving license authority), you can submit a corresponding application to the Federal Motor Transport Authority (see link below).

No data on driving licenses issued before 01.01.1999 (pink and grey driving licenses) is available in the central driving license register.

If your driving license issued before 01.01.1999 was from Bonn and your main place of residence at that time was Bonn, simply provide us with the necessary data online using the form below.

We will send a copy of the file card to the driving license authority in your current place of residence free of charge. Unfortunately, it is not possible to send it to you personally.
