Overview
Pursuant to §46 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulations (StVO), exemptions from stopping and parking bans may be granted to
- Private individuals,
- craft enterprises and
- removal companies.
The exemption permit is granted exclusively for motor vehicles
- which are used to carry out work (workshop vehicles),
- for the transportation of work equipment or
- the transportation of goods that cannot be carried over long distances due to their value, weight or size.
The exemption permit is generally issued for one vehicle. There are no exemptions for vehicles that are only used to transport passengers. On Sundays and public holidays, no exemptions can be granted in connection with removals due to the legal requirements of the law on Sundays and public holidays.
Individual exemptions from stopping and parking bans and from bans or restrictions imposed by traffic signs, for example
- in pedestrian zones (for delivery businesses outside of delivery times or craft work)
- in restricted no-stopping zones
- on footpaths
