As a public contracting authority, the city administration of Bonn is an important customer in the Bonn-Rhine/Sieg economic area.

When awarding contracts, the City of Bonn is subject to a large number of regulations under state, federal and European law. The Procurement Services Department is responsible for implementing these regulations in municipal provisions and for keeping the various procurement offices within the administration constantly informed.

The Procurement Services Department supports the municipal procurement procedures, advises the departments on procurement law matters and ensures the basis for a proper procurement procedure. It publishes the reviewed tender documents, opens tenders and carries out the mathematical examination of tenders.
