The greatest potential for renewable energy in Bonn lies in solar energy. Whether balcony, roof, façade or open space: exploiting this potential is an important building block in achieving climate neutrality by 2035. The city is supporting the expansion with a municipal funding program. In addition, there is a wide range of citizen involvement in the expansion of renewable energies.

Carmen Ulmen, Climate Neutral Bonn 2035 Program Office of the City of Bonn, will present the city's "Solar Bonn" funding program. Chris Steenbergen will then introduce the Citizens' Solar Advice Service, which provides support for friends and acquaintances with questions about photovoltaic systems. Thomas Becker from the Vilich-Müldorf Citizens' Association (Climate Prize winner 2022) will report on the training course for balcony scouts and use a sample system to show how a balcony power plant can be easily installed and put into operation.
