  • Nataliy Schenkmann

ANNOUNCEMENT: Friday, April 04, 2025, 6 p.m.

Art talk:
Monday, April 28, 2025, 8 p.m.

EXHIBITION DURATION: 04.04.2025 until 28.04.2025

"The Other View" describes the interplay between the different painting styles of artists Barbara Kroke and Nataliy Schenkmann. The exhibition title also poses the question of the external impact and perception of their art, which is almost always subjective due to the different perspectives.

Barbara Kroke works exclusively abstractly. Typical for her paintings are interesting color nuances that are created through multiple layering and by processing the respective surface, by removing or adding color or other materials. Graphic elements accentuate the message of the works.

Nataliy Schenkmann combines literature and painting in many of her works. Detailed layers of paint lend her pictures a sense of three-dimensionality. Portraits are a focal point of her work, in which she captures the individual character of those portrayed and thus conveys intimacy. The models are friends or other artists.
