"Cybergrooming" refers to the targeted approaching of minors via the internet with the aim of initiating sexual contact and is one of the most common forms of sexualized violence in the digital space. According to a recent study by the NRW Media Authority, 25% of children and young people between the ages of 8 and 17 state that they have already been affected by cybergrooming in social networks or online games. The workshop provides a basic understanding of the mechanisms of cybergrooming, gives an overview of legal aspects and presents specific prevention methods and recommendations for action.
