The 16th Bonn Balloon Festival takes place on Whitsun weekend with fantastic views over Bonn. Balloon teams from all over Europe will come together to launch their balloons from Bonn's Rheinaue. Up to 40 hot-air balloons, including various special shapes and an airship, will take off into the sunrise and sunset on the large flower meadow.

This year, visitors can look forward to an extra day with spectacular balloon launches and a varied family program on Whit Monday. In addition to lots of information about aviation, there will also be model balloons on the event area towards the evening. The atmospheric highlight of the event is the traditional balloon glow on Saturday & Whit Sunday at dusk with musical accompaniment.

• Whit Sunday & Whit Monday, 08 & 09 June from 12.00 noon Family program, balloon launches from 6.00 am and from 7.00 pm*
