The motto is: exchange, celebrate, inform.
International Women's Day 2025 is over. Together with many stakeholders, the Equal Opportunities Office of the City of Bonn celebrated this day and drew attention to what has already been achieved in the realization of gender equality - and what unfortunately has not yet been achieved. Because without the potential and talents of women, there will be no social progress.
The lectures and workshops on offer were diverse, and there were plenty of other events throughout the city to mark International Women's Day - both before and after March 8.
In the International Meeting Centre in Ollenhauerstraße, you could actively exchange ideas with the actors at around 30 information stands from Bonn organizations, advice centres, municipal offices and associations that are committed to women's and equality issues on 14 March from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. - the stands were well attended! At 12 noon, Mayor Katja Dörner welcomed the participants and there was a musical performance. The city tours offered on various topics were also popular again and provided valuable new insights, e.g. with the "Stadtstreifen". In the evening, a visit to the movie theater Woki, together with Mayor Dörner, rounded off International Women's Day. The movie "Die Unbeugamen 2" was shown.
We want to continue to use International Women's Day in the future to discuss important topics, find out about offers, but also to celebrate. Together with many actors who are committed to women's rights and more justice in society and in Bonn, we want to continue to make the valuable work visible.
We hope you enjoyed this year's program and look forward to seeing you again on International Women's Day 2026. You can find out more details in good time on this page, which will be continuously updated until March 8, 2026. Be curious!
