City of Bonn

Commuting by bike

Cycling is increasing compared to previous decades. To ensure that even more people cycle to work, the city is developing routes for commuters and helping companies to make it easier for their employees to commute using sustainable modes of transport.

More and more people are deciding to cycle to work - it's good for the urban climate and for their own health. Anyone who switches from car to bike is actively supporting Bonn's mobility transition.

If you don't have your own bike and can only leave your car behind every now and then, you should ideally use local public transport in combination with a short walk or rental bikes and e-scooters. You can find more information  here.
