Since 1999, the Bonn - La Paz Association has been bringing the country of Bolivia, its culture and the people of Bolivia closer to the citizens of Bonn. Its main activities include organizing discussion events on culture, the reality of life and current political and social developments in Bolivia in cooperation with the city of Bonn, Bonn associations and organizations (e.g. Ibero Club).

The association also organizes cultural events with Bolivian artists in Bonn. In 2009, the Teatro de los Andes succeeded in bringing a Bolivian theater group known far beyond the borders of Bolivia and Latin America to the Kammerspiele in Bonn with the play "La Odyssea".

The Bonn - La Paz association also has a long-standing cooperation and friendship with the COMPA "Teatro Trono" project from La Paz and the "KinderKulturKarawane Hamburg". The youth theater Teatro Trono from El Alto is now well known in Bonn thanks to numerous performances. Among other things, around 100 pupils from the Bertolt Brecht Comprehensive School have spent a week together with the young Bolivian mime artists proving that it is possible to work together creatively without speaking the same language. The Bolivia Unida dance group from Bonn joined the association at the beginning of 2010. They train in the Endenich sports hall, in cooperation with the Bonn 1967 gymnastics club (including performances at the Carnival of Cultures in Berlin and participation in the Rose Monday parade in Bonn).

Through its contacts to La Paz and the networking of people from the most diverse areas, the association helps to ensure that the cooperation between the citizens of both cities leads to sustainable cooperation in the long term, characterized by understanding and acceptance of the different "living environments".
