City of Bonn

International Club La Redoute Bonn e.V.

The International Club La Redoute was founded in 1953 by the then French High Commissioner André François-Poncet as a meeting place for members of the German government, parliament, foreign embassies and the press.

Following the transfer of the capital city function to the federal capital Berlin, the club was restructured. It is open to citizens, entrepreneurs and academics from the Bonn/Rhine-Sieg region, members of the diplomatic corps remaining in Bonn, UN organizations and federal authorities. Today, it is a forum for encounters that continues to cultivate the cosmopolitan spirit of the former federal capital that has grown over the years and addresses the pressing issues of our time.

The club offers a wide range of events, above all lectures on current topics in international politics, business, science and culture, but also trips and cultural events such as concerts and visits to exhibitions. Monthly meetings of a Business Circle and an International Roundtable give those particularly interested in economic and international issues, currently around 830 members, additional opportunities to obtain information and exchange views. The club's events are open to members and their guests.
