Numerous European players are represented in the City of Bonn. In 2014, the EU Commission's regional representation in Bonn celebrated its 60th anniversary. In 1954, it was the first external representation of the young community of European countries.

The European Commission has set up a large number of local information and advice centers in Germany for its public relations work.

As a regional representation, the European Commission in Bonn is the link between the Commission in Brussels and the public on the Rhine, Main and Saar. To this end, its representatives seek dialog with the public, the media and politicians.
