The aim of the society is to foster and promote understanding, connection and friendship between Germans and Greeks within the European Union and to raise awareness of the common cultural heritage by cultivating and intensifying cultural contacts between Greece and the other European states and to contribute to the coexistence of its citizens in peaceful coexistence by preserving European cultural heritage.

The Society conducts and supports studies on Greek culture and promotes its dissemination in the Federal Republic of Germany. It maintains close contacts with university institutions throughout Germany and Europe and in particular fosters cooperation with the University of Bonn. It encourages and promotes the establishment of further German-Greek institutions in Germany and other European countries. In addition, the society, which is active throughout Germany, aims to contribute in particular to the ongoing development of the City of Bonn as a city of culture.
