The purpose of the German-Hungarian Society in the Federal Republic of Germany is to foster and promote relations between Hungary and Germany in the economic, cultural, social and political fields. It supports exchange, encounters and cooperation between Germans and Hungarians.

In its function as an umbrella organization, it also strives for close cooperation with other German-Hungarian societies and associations at regional level. The society organizes concerts, poetry readings, exhibitions, theater performances and other cultural activities. It mainly organizes information and dialogue events on political, economic, social and cultural topics.
