The Franco-German Society Bonn and Rhine-Sieg offers all people with a special interest in France and Franco-German relations, both in the City of Bonn and in the Rhine-Sieg region, a platform for information, exchange of ideas and encounters. The aim is to broaden and deepen knowledge about France and its history, its culture and its political and social present.
There are lectures, cultural events, trips to discover French regions and social gatherings, French discussion groups and further training for French teachers. Partners include the Robert Schuman Institute and a number of other institutions and societies.
The Franco-German Society promotes a broader and better command of the French language and works with schools in the region. A junior circle is currently being set up. At the same time, the society sees itself as a point of contact for the many francophones whose studies, work or life path takes them to our region. Through its work, the society aims to contribute to good relations between Germany and France and to promote a vibrant Europe of citizens. It is an active member of the Association of Franco-German Societies for Europe (VDFG).
