The installation of new library software to replace the existing software has been decided and commissioned for the Bonn City Library. The changeover to the new WinBIAP software from Datronicsoft is scheduled for April 2025.

This will require the closure of all city library facilities for four weeks from Monday, March 31 to Monday, April 28. The district libraries in Endenich, Dottendorf and Auerberg, which are organized on a voluntary basis, will close for one week longer until Monday, 5 May, i.e. for five weeks. This means that the last opening day before the closure will be Saturday, March 29. From 2 p.m., the outdoor return station at the Haus der Bildung will also be closed for the entire duration of the four-week closure.

The full-time facilities of the city library will reopen on Tuesday, 29 April, while the volunteer-run district libraries will reopen on Tuesday, 6 May.
