VHS lecture: Indigenous women against resource exploitation

This is a current message from the Adult Education Center Bonn

In the Ecuadorian Amazon region, indigenous women are celebrated as "guardians of the rainforest". They are fighting against the exploitation of resources. With the spread of organized crime in the region, their struggle is also expanding against an exploitative machista system.

On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 6.15 pm, Caroline Bene from the University of Bonn will describe how the indigenous women's movement is fighting for their rights as women and as indigenous people in equal measure and is also standing up for the protection of the forest.

Registration is now open: please quote course number 1522 at  www.vhs-bonn.de (opens in a new tab) or send an email to vhsbonnde The lecture at Haus der Bildung, Mülheimer Platz 1, is free of charge.
