Record 18,000 registrations - Deutsche Post Marathon Bonn is sold out

The Deutsche Post Marathon Bonn 2025 is breaking all records: With almost 18,000 registered runners, the previous record from 2019 (13,912 registrations) has been far exceeded. All starting places have been allocated - late registration is no longer possible. In total, over 4,000 more registrations were received than last year. Enthusiasm for the running event is greater than ever.

This is a press release from MMP Event GmbH.

"These incredible registration figures are a strong sign of the enthusiasm for running in Bonn and far beyond. We would like to thank all participants for their trust and passion. The Deutsche Post Marathon Bonn is a permanent fixture in the running calendar and has firmly established itself as a spring classic in the German running scene," says marathon organizer Christian Okon, Managing Director of MMP Event GmbH.

School marathon: 1,800 pupils at the start

The next generation is also in top form: 1,800 students from 64 schools are taking part in this year's Deutsche Post School Marathon - 700 more than last year. The enthusiasm for the relay competition, in which teams of six runners tackle the marathon distance together, is unbroken.

"The Deutsche Post School Marathon gets young people moving and strengthens team spirit. Sporting activity and community experiences are enormously important for personal development - that's why we support this special event with full conviction," says Nikola Hagleitner, Member of the Board of Management of Deutsche Post. Thanks to Deutsche Post's support, the Deutsche Post School Marathon is free of charge for all participating schools.

The city of Bonn can look forward to an unforgettable sports weekend! The marathon weekend starts on Friday, April 4, with the marathon fair on Münsterplatz in Bonn (from 10 am). Here, runners can pick up their starting documents and find out all about running. The fair is open until Saturday, April 5, at 6 pm. Admission is free. Another highlight will follow on Saturday at 1:30 pm: the Deutsche Post Marathon Bonn Children's Run. Around 200 children will be introduced to running in a playful way - without any time pressure, but with lots of fun.

The big race day starts on Sunday, April 6, at 8:30 am. The last runners are expected to cross the finish line at around 4:45 pm. A visit to the course and Bonn city center is worthwhile! In addition to the start and finish on Adenauerallee, Münsterplatz will be the central meeting point for fans and visitors with a moderator and supporting program.
