On Monday, June 3, at 12.45 pm, the Rhine level was at 5.79 meters. According to the forecast of the Rhineland-Palatinate flood forecasting service, the water level is expected to reach almost 6.80 meters on Wednesday morning, 5 June. Between five and 7.40 meters is considered a "small flood".
The city administration is keeping an eye on the situation. Endangered areas are regularly monitored by the municipal public order service in order to be able to react quickly if necessary. In order to prevent the Rhine water from entering the sewer system, the sewer operations department of the civil engineering office has closed various valves in the sewer network.
Citizens are asked to call the Bonn fire department on 0228 - 7170 to report any damage. Up-to-date information on the Rhine floods can be obtained from the fire department's citizens' hotline on 0228 - 717171.
