The "Im Rosenfeld" area on Schickgasse in the Buschdorf district in the north of Bonn is to be developed into a sustainable, climate-neutral and low-car living environment that meets the requirements for the future of planning, building and living. While a large part of the area will be used for landscape and nature conservation, around eight hectares will be developed into a residential area including an elementary school and a daycare center. To this end, development plan no. 6224-3 "Im Rosenfeld" must be drawn up and approved.
The basis is the winning design "BaumStadt"
The "BaumStadt" design was chosen as the winner in a Europe-wide competition with integrated citizen participation. The plans by Schellenberg + Bäumler Architekten GmbH (Dresden) with Studio grüngrau Landschaftsarchitekten GmbH (Düsseldorf) envisage a strong green design for the quarter, which will form the structural conclusion of the Buschdorf district in the future. The city is now carrying out a development plan procedure on the basis of these plans.
Face-to-face event on March 7
At an event on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 5 p.m. (admission from 4:30 p.m.) at the CJD Conference and Guest House, Graurheindorfer Straße 149 in Bonn-Castell (barrier-free access), arrival at the Ministry of the Interior stop (bus and streetcar), citizens can find out more about the planning. They will also be able to take part in a discussion with those involved and affected.
As there was already lively interest in the participation event in advance, the city administration has selected the CJD Conference and Guest House as a larger venue outside Buschdorf. It offers seating for around 200 people and is well connected to local public transport. In addition, "Im Rosenfeld" has city-wide significance and is considered a pilot project for future residential development projects in Bonn. As a result, interest extends beyond Buschdorf, which also speaks in favor of a venue closer to the city centre.
Online participation from March 5 to 19
In addition to the event, there will be a two-week online participation period. All information can be viewed on the participation platform www.bonn-macht-mit.de/beteiligungen/rosenfeld (opens in a new tab) and opinions can be expressed via the public comment function between March 5 and 19, 2025. Frequently asked questions are also already answered here in writing. In addition to digital access, the plans can also be viewed during the same period in the Stadthaus foyer, Berliner Platz 2, 53111 Bonn, during office hours on Mondays and Thursdays from 8 am to 6 pm and on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 am to 1 pm.
Further information and links are also available on the city's website at www.bonn.de/rosenfeld (opens in a new tab).
The upcoming participation phase is in line with the format of the citizen dialogs that were launched in summer 2023 for the development of Rosenfeld. The "early public participation" formally stipulated by the German Building Code is thus the third public dialog in which interested citizens are informed about the process and given the opportunity to participate.
