Caleb Borick from the USA is the winner of the International Telekom Beethoven Competition Bonn (ITBCB) 2023, beating second-placed Lovre Marušić from Croatia and third-placed Zhouhui Shen from China in the final. Borick impressed with his interpretation of Ludwig van Beethoven's Third Piano Concerto, accompanied by the Beethoven Orchester Bonn under the direction of Dirk Kaftan. All finalists can look forward to prize money of €50,000 (1st place), €25,000 (2nd place) and €10,000 (3rd place) as well as concert engagements, including at the Beethovenfest Bonn.

Borick also wins over the Bonn audience

"The people of Bonn have a good nose for winners," said jury president Pavel Gililov, introducing the presentation of the audience award. The concert guests on site and in the stream were able to vote for their favorite. Caleb Borick came out on top here too, and Gililov then presented him with the audience award as well as the jury prize.

The International Telekom Beethoven Competition Bonn was presented by the Beethovenfest Bonn.
