Hundreds of rental bikes are available everywhere
Unlock your bike at Smartphone , hop on the saddle - and off you go with the rental bikes available throughout Bonn. The service combines 100 fixed stations with the flexibility of the so-called Free-Floating system. Customers do not have to return the bikes to a station, but can leave them - clearly visible - elsewhere in the city.
The bikes do not have to be rented at the stations either: Bikes parked outside rental stations can be rented directly for onward travel. An overview of the bikes available can be found at Nextbike-App and on the new mobility platform of SWB Bus und Bahn, BONNmobil-App (opens in a new tab). VRS subscription customers receive 30 free minutes per day, which can be spread out over the day.
17 e-cargo bikes station-bound at 6 mobile stations
Whether for the weekly bulk shopping trip or a spontaneous visit to the drinks market, 17 e-cargo bikes are currently available at these six mobile stations:
- Wilhelm-Levision-Straße
- Kaiserstrasse
- At the Elisabethkirche
- Frankenbad
- Konrad-Adenauer-Platz
- Beuel train station
These bikes are station-bound, i.e. they must be returned to the respective mobile stations after use. Like normal bikes, they can be rented via Nextbike-App. So-called exchange stations have been set up for trips to the Rhein-Sieg district or from the Rhein-Sieg district to Bonn. There, users of rental bikes from Bonn can switch to rental bikes from the Rhein-Sieg district (or vice versa).
Call a Bike
Call a Bike is Deutsche Bahn's nationwide Bike-Sharing service. Station-bound bicycles are available at Bonn station and can be rented via Call-a-Bike-App .
Rental bikes from the bike stations in the one-way rental system
With the "one-way rental system", the bike stations in the Rhineland offer an additional service. Rental bikes no longer have to be returned to the rental location, but can also be returned to another bike station for a small surcharge. The bike stations in Bonn, Brühl, Cologne, Kerpen/Horrem, Grevenbroich, Neuss and Düsseldorf are involved.
