The "Bonn Network for Development - Responsibility Justice Future" currently comprises 68 associations and organizations that are involved in development policy in Bonn, both locally and internationally. In addition to Bonn associations and initiatives, schools and parishes, members also include municipal institutions such as the Adult Education Center, the Office for Local Sustainability, the Office for Children, Youth and Family and the Office for International and Global Sustainability. The network was founded in August 2011 on the initiative of the city and its coordination was supported by the city for several years.
The members of the Bonn Network for Development make an important contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals through a wide range of activities and voluntary work. The focus is on topics such as human rights, sustainable business, responsible use of resources and fair trade. By organizing events and providing information, the members aim to highlight the fact that lifestyles and production methods in the Global North often affect the living and working conditions of people in countries of the Global South in particular. Their common goal is to raise public awareness of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals in Bonn and to gain support for their own projects and initiatives.
The "Bonn Network for Development" offers smaller players a platform and promotes exchange and cooperation among them. At the same time, the network would like to set new impulses with its exemplary commitment and thus also win over other initiatives and organizations for joint events.
