In the spirit of the founding fathers of Franco-German friendship, Konrad Adenauer and Charles de Gaulle, youth exchange is the most stable foundation for this friendship and the town twinning.
Both Hardtberg secondary schools have long-standing friendly relationships with partner schools in Villemomble. Some clubs and the Hardtberg music school do the same.

Another fixed component and annual highlight are the reciprocal visits as part of the citizens' trips. Numerous friendships have developed here, far beyond the official dates.

The town twinning has now been in existence for over 50 years and continues to enjoy great popularity.
