Overview
Suspected cases of rent overcharging are investigated in accordance with the Economic Offenses Act as part of administrative offence proceedings. The prerequisite for this is that the local comparative rent is exceeded by more than 20 percent and proof that an emergency situation was exploited when the tenancy agreement was concluded. The tenancy agreement and all correspondence with the landlord or landlady are required for the examination. A personal visit is not required. There are no fees.
