Overview
The collection and transportation of household waste is generally carried out by means of property-related waste disposal with waste containers (residual waste garbage cans) in full service, so that the garbage cans are collected from the property for emptying by bonnorange AöR and then returned to their location.
In the waste statutes of the City of Bonn, 15 liters per person per week are used as the basis for residual waste. This standard volume is used to determine the number, type and size of waste containers for all residential properties in Bonn. If it can be proven that the minimum waste volume is not reached due to waste avoidance and recycling, a minimum volume of ten liters per person with a main residence per week can be set. The volume provided in combination with the emptying interval results in the waste fee charged by the City of Bonn's Cash and Tax Office. Property owners or authorized administrators can apply for a 50 percent reduction in fees for properties that are occupied by only one person and where a 40-litre waste container is provided. The residual waste volume for commercially used properties is determined appropriately in accordance with the provisions of the Commercial Waste Ordinance. This is done on an industry-specific basis using the so-called population equivalent.
For temporarily higher volumes of household waste that are suitable for collection in waste bags, waste bags (70 liters) approved by bonnorange AöR and available in stores at a price of 4.00 euros can be used. They can be placed on the sidewalk by 6:30 a.m. on the day of collection.
Alternatively, you can also deliver temporary excess quantities (maximum two cubic meters) to one of the recycling depots in Bonn (for a fee).
If it becomes apparent that the excess waste exceeding the volume of your residual waste container will accumulate over the long term, you should consider changing the container to a larger volume, which is possible at any time.
