Overview
If the normal license plate cannot be attached to the vehicle or if the officially recognized expert has provided information on deviating license plate sizes in the report, a license plate of a different size can be approved by means of a special permit.
The legal provisions require that structural changes to the vehicle must first be made to allow a normal license plate to be affixed before a special permit is issued. However, this must not cause unreasonable expense. The decision on this is made by the licensing authority as part of an inspection of the vehicle.
If necessary, the vehicle must be presented.
