Description
The services offered by the guardianship authority include determining and supporting the guardianship courts in guardianship proceedings, e.g. in the form of written statements or social reports. Furthermore, the care authority advises and informs adults, in particular sick or disabled people, their relatives and interested citizens on the topics of legal care and precautionary measures through powers of attorney and dispositions.
The main authority is also located within the care authority. The services offered by the main authority include advice and information for professional carers and voluntary external carers as well as carrying out the registration process, including monitoring the notification and verification obligations.
Since the reformed Care Act came into force on January 1, 2023, professional caregivers must undergo a registration procedure to ensure that the minimum professional and personal requirements are met. The underlying regulations can be found in the Care Organization Act (BtOG) and the Caregiver Registration Ordinance (BtRegV).
The guardianship authority also supports volunteer guardians, professional guardians, authorized persons and specialist staff from hospitals and institutions, for example, by providing information, training and public relations work.
