In October 2023, the third Jobwärts impact survey was conducted in collaboration with the Rhein-Main University of Applied Sciences, which provided valuable insights into the mobility behavior of employees in the region and the Jobwärts program. A total of 25 employers with 44,334 employees took part in the survey. The response rate of 9,435 was 21 percent.
The modal split - traveling to work
In 2023, 47.6 percent of journeys to work were made by car, 18.8 percent of employees traveled by public transport, 18.5 percent by bicycle and 8.1 percent by pedelec. For the eleven employers who have participated in all three impact measurements since 2001, the proportion of journeys to work by car has fallen by 5.5 percent.
Changeover - reduction in car use
Changeover potential
Changeover potential
Around 2,500 employees are planning to switch from cars to public transport or bicycles in the near future. Under certain conditions (such as better cycle paths and parking facilities, showers/changing rooms at the employer's premises), 35% of those surveyed could imagine switching to two-wheelers. 46% of respondents could imagine switching to buses and trains, but only if connections were optimized and fares reduced.
