Low emission zone: What is it?
In low emission zones, vehicles that emit comparatively high levels of pollutants are banned. Their purpose is to reduce the concentration of pollutants, particularly on busy roads where people live. The traffic ban applies to all vehicles that do not have one of the stickers permitted in the environmental zone or are not exempt from the traffic bans.
Freeways are not covered by the traffic bans in order to safeguard through traffic.
