Citizen Participation Advisory Board

The Advisory Board was created with the resolution on the Citizen Participation Guidelines and was constituted in the fall of 2016. It makes recommendations on the preparation, implementation and follow-up of participation processes and is a preliminary advisory body to the Committee for Citizen Participation and Local Agenda.

The Citizen Participation Advisory Board is made up of eight representatives each from local residents, politics and administration.

The Citizen Participation Advisory Board

  • ensures the evaluation of the Citizen Participation Guidelines,
  • advises on the preparation of the list of projects and the creation of participation concepts for complex procedures,
  • develops recommendations for the preparation, implementation and follow-up of specific projects,
  • evaluates participation procedures,
  • prepares statements on collective reports on complex and standardized participation procedures and
  • is the point of contact for all residents.

Its main tasks are the evaluation of the Citizen Participation Guidelines and the regular updating of the project list, which is approved by the Citizen Participation Committee. Cooperation within the advisory board is governed by rules of procedure, which include issues relating to composition, minutes, internal communication, public relations, decision-making and much more.

The aim is to ensure that each of the three stakeholder groups can be adequately considered and heard when decisions are made. The committee also reflects on its work at regular intervals in order to scrutinize processes and structural stipulations.
