The City of Bonn endeavors to make its website accessible. The websites should be designed in such a way that they comply with the national legislation implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament.
This declaration on digital accessibility applies to the website www.bonn.de as well as to the independent websites under the domain www.bonn.de (microsites).
When was the accessibility statement created?
This declaration was created on February 10, 2020 and updated on July 26, 2024.
The technical portal implementer of www.bonn.de, Sitepark GmbH (https://www.sitepark.com) (opens in a new tab) from Münster, carried out a technical check of the accessibility of www.bonn.de as part of the relaunch of the website in March 2019. Proof of accessibility was provided as a BITV self-assessment https://studio.bitvtest.de. (opens in a new tab)
In addition, the website was checked for accessibility in accordance with WCAG 2.1 by the company City & Bits before the relaunch. No serious errors were found.
How accessible is the offer?
This website is largely barrier-free. The requirements of BITV 2.0 are largely fulfilled from a technical point of view.
Which areas are not barrier-free?
- PDF documents on www.bonn.de are not accessible. As these are numerous files, it will take some time to resolve the problem. We are making every effort to remove the remaining barriers.
- Not all videos embedded on www.bonn.de have subtitles. The problem will be fixed soon.
- Copyright information for images is displayed dynamically at the end of the document. This can lead to problems in certain browser/screen reader combinations, resulting in information not being read aloud.
- The online maps embedded on www.bonn.de are not barrier-free. If contact addresses are visualized, the address is always provided in addition to the map. We endeavor to make the cartographic content as accessible as possible. (Online maps are excluded from the scope of EU Directive 2016/2102 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies in accordance with Article 1 (4) d)).
- The interactive diagrams on www.bonn.de are not accessible due to their two-dimensional structure. However, an alternative text enables a descriptive identification of the content.
