Around 60 children's and young adult authors from Germany, France, Poland, Austria, Switzerland and the UK will be reading from their books at "Käpt'n Book": Sabine Bohlmann will be bringing along Frau Honig, the little witch Willow and the extraordinary Grause family. Oliver Scherz will be bringing his classic "Ein Freund wie kein anderer" (A friend like no other) and Stefan Gemmel will be reading from "Greg's Diary". Martin Muser is coming to the Rhineland with the heroes of his "Kannawoniwasein" books, among others, while Isabel Abedi will be reading from her popular "Lola" series alongside her latest book "Mi mittendrin".
Older teenagers can look forward to Eva Rottmann's award-winning young adult novel "Kurz vor dem Rand" and experience the devastating consequences of digital manipulation in Colin Hadler's new thriller "Seven Ways to tell a lie". Polish author Ola Woldańska-Płocińska answers children's questions about the Earth's climate from prehistoric times to the present day in her book, and Isabel Pin invites you to French-German readings. Musical and literary highlights will be provided by Fritzi Bender and Ingo Siegner with band, for example.
In addition to the readings, there will be a varied, free supporting program of music, film, theater, workshops and family days in Bonn and the southern Rhineland region on topics such as "Democracy and Children's Rights", "Diversity and Diversity" and "Sustainability and Environmental Protection".
The complete program can be found online at www.kaeptnbook-lesefest.de (opens in a new tab) from mid-August. The program booklet will be published at the end of August.
