Klimaviertel Medinghoven: Neighborhood office to be set up on Europaring

The neighborhood office for the Medinghoven climate district is to be set up in premises at Europaring 40. The city administration provides information on this in a recent press release.

The search for a location was carried out in close coordination with the responsible body, the Bonn Institute for Migration Research and Intercultural Learning (BIM). The sponsor has initially concluded a rental agreement until the end of 2026 and will complete the necessary renovation work by summer 2025.

The neighborhood office is intended to serve as a reliable point of contact for people in the Klimaviertel. The plan is to offer low-threshold events and advice to enable residents to talk to each other. Saman Haddad, coordinator of the Medinghoven climate district: "This space will become a laboratory for local initiatives and commitment. We are bursting with energy and invite everyone to contribute their ideas here!"

Climate districts are part of Bonn's 2035 climate plan

There are already two other climate districts in Beuel-Mitte and Godesberg-Nord. The climate districts are a central component of Bonn's Climate Plan 2035. The city of Bonn is relying on strong citizen participation and concrete local measures to achieve its climate targets. Recommendations from the "Bonn4Future - Wir fürs Klima" (Bonn4Future - We for the climate) participatory process have also been incorporated into the design of the climate districts. One of the recommendations was to enable Bonn residents to "get started on their own doorstep".
